Who is my-biz-world.com?
The internet is very impersonal and you never know just who you're
dealing with online. It's difficult to trust someone you have never seen or
met, so you take a chance.
A little about me:
My name is Mireille Carrier and I turned 44
years old in February 2004. I was born and raised in Montreal (I
speak French fluently) but I've lived in Calgary, AB, Canada since
1981. My professional background includes over 20 years experience in administration, public
relations, and marketing offline. I've also been involved
in volunteer work since my teen years and I was a Director of the Board of
a non-profit organization in Calgary for 3 years. I obtained my
first work
at home job through my volunteer work and others followed.
Originally, my-biz-world was a SFI
recruiting site. When I stopped promoting that program, I updated
my-biz-world.com to concentrate on helping those who want to work from
home and help them avoid being scammed and losing their hard earned money.
I got access to the internet from work in
early 1995 for research purposes. I bought my first home computer in
February 1999.
I was also exposed to all the "work at
home schemes" online that I received in my email every day. I
joined SFI in 2000 and promoted that program until early 2003. I now
only do true affiliate marketing and always work on improving current
websites and creating new ones. I no longer rely on anyone else to
make money for me, my income derives entirely on my own efforts.
I have used a lot of my time online to
review several affiliate programs and internet businesses. My
boyfriend/fiance, who lives in New York, has also contributed a lot of
valuable input into this website. In the
process, we have helped a lot of people become efficient in their internet
marketing and make money online. We have helped friends and
acquaintances recognize scams and we have successfully assisted
several people to recover their money from them.
A few years ago I became quite interested
in computer and internet security. The more I read on this subject,
the more I was interested in knowing and learning more. I strongly believe that we all have
the right to surf the internet safely without being infected with
viruses, trojans or other parasites without our knowledge or
permission. I bookmarked so many pages, and I thought you had the
right to know what could happen to you online and how you could protect
yourself. So I decided to add a section to my-biz-world on computer
and internet security because it affects EVERYONE who comes online every day.
I started testing a lot of programs to remove these threats. Yes,
like many of you, my computer was victim of drive-by downloads and I got
infected with a few of them. Since I test programs myself and do a lot of research before recommending
these programs, I decided it was time to emphasize the programs that I DO
recommend in every category and those that have the best support to help you.
Unfortunately, the internet is no longer a safe haven
for anyone. The days when the internet was fun and secure are long
gone. In addition to the thousand scams roaming around the internet
to cheat you out of your money, with technology advances, hackers, spammers and other
malicious individuals and companies are also getting trickier. If
you don't understand or are not aware of what's out there that can really
hurt you in more ways than one, you're in for a nasty surprise! Read
about browser helper objects and parasites here.
I don't just test security programs, I also contact the developers and/or their
support and see what kind of response I get. I want to know just how
helpful these people are, why they think their program is better than
another that does the same thing, and what they're doing to improve their
products for future releases. I have tested, and still do, programs for future versions to compare them, while
other companies have just given
me their current program for free. At some point, I had SIX
spyware removal programs in my computer, and two of these were for testing
purposes only. Now I only use one, XCleaner.
When I say that I tested
programs, I didn't just download them and install them on my computer for
fun. I mean that I actually worked with the developers of the
program to test new parasites and how the program stops them from
downloading and how effective the program is at removing them, reporting
findings and working with the support team to make these programs better.
With new parasites that surface
online every day and those that keep "improving" or coming up
with new "releases", spyware removal programs have to be quick to react to protect you
from being infected. Removing a program once it has installed
itself on your computer is no longer enough. You don't know how
long you've had it, how much personal information it has collected on you
and sent "home", and you don't know how deeply your privacy has
been invaded. Spyware removal programs have to stay ahead of these
malicious applications if they want to be competitive on the internet.
In a nutshell...
Never forget that true internet income comes from YOUR efforts. You should
never rely on others to make money for you because you can't control what
they do. And most of the time they do nothing.
Promises of overnight riches, so many programs promoting that they do
all the work for you (wouldn't that be nice if it were actually true?),
and guaranteed income (nothing could get you into more trouble than
guarantees you can't prove and sustain) have turned the internet into a
maze of lazy, unmotivated affiliate program junkies.
Never forget that the internet is NOT
safe if you're not protected. Don't wait until you become a victim
to react. Be proactive. It's always better to be safe than
sorry.
Our advice to you:
If it sounds too good to be true, on the internet you can be assured
that it is.
Most people who get burned online could avoid being scammed by taking
just a few minutes of their time to do a little research first. If
you're not willing to use your time wisely to find out about an
opportunity BEFORE you give them any money, then if or when you get
scammed, it's really your own fault.
Most people who are victims of identity
theft, have major computer problems because of parasites and other pests
that found their way into their computers, or experience any other
security and privacy invasion issues could have avoided all these problems
if they only protected themselves. Don't wait
until it's too late, protect yourself NOW!
